Planting Timelines

    - Sow indoors or under cover from late March
    - You can sow straight outdoors to soil, but be weary of pests like slugs and snails
    - Fill pots or cell trays with compost and press down to firm the soil
    - Make a small well in the soil with your finger approx 1cm deep
    - Place 1 seed per cell or small pot
    - Cover with compost, lightly pat down and water
    - Seeds can take 7 - 14 days to germinate
    - Once the plants are approx 6 inches tall, they can be planted out to a bed of soil, or larger container
    - Plant out approx 18 inches apart
    - Where possible, plant out under netting, or inside a brassica cage/frame
